Bill G0DEO/9H1IA Installing the Repeater - December 2005
Hi, The name this end is William A. Batey or Bill as everyone calls me. Callsigns G0DEO / 9H1IA / 9H1BBS / 8P9HY
I am the owner and operator of the VHF and UHF repeater systems that went into operation on the 1st January 2006. Both repeaters are operated under my 9H1BBS licence and identify themselves every 15 minutes in CW at 18WPM as follows:-
9H1BBS RV6 - DE 9H1BBS K VHF Ch 6
9H1BBS RU7 - DE 9H1BBS K UHF Ch 7
Both the VHF and UHF repeates require a 77Hz CTCSS sub-audiable tone for access and each have a short 1 second tail.
Since the 28th April 2011 both repeaters have been relocated to Naxxar. Further information will be supplied once tests are completed.

Both Repeaters are internet linked on a 24/7 basis using two dedicated EchoLink systems each running on an independent 5Mbit DSL internet connection.
The VHF Repeater EchoLink number is 5661 9H1BBS-R
The UHF Repeater EchoLink number is 5668 9H1IA-R
Both Repeaters are remote controlled from my home QTH at Mosta over a dedicated LOS (Line Of Sight) link, as are the automatic announce system and weather reporting system.

The 9H1BBS UHF Repeater broadcasts the RSGB news in english every Sunday at 08:00 GMT and again at 21:00 GMT.
The Repeaters and EchoLink systems are maintained and controlled locally by Mark Vella 9H1GP (Assistant System Operator).
Best 73's and enjoy the systems.

The HF Gateway EchoLink number is 145300 9H1BBS-L
On the 15th of August 2009 the 9H1BBS-L HFN Gateway was put into operation on 14.342500 MHz USB with full ALE control.
The transceivers in use are 2 Icom IC-756Pro III's running at
19,200 baud and capable of 10 Channels/Sec with PCAL Quite Relay Scanning & Sounding.
This is the first time a HAM radio net has ever functioned continuosly on all 8 major HF bands simultaneosly 24/7/365.
The main purpose is Emergency / Relief Communications, and the focus is to provide a framework to help the various Emcomm and relief organisations of the world inter-operate better with each other on HF.
Apart from providing Global ALE support, the system has a "callsign specific" store and forward facility which is avaliable to everyone.
HF Pack Members worldwide have tested the system and have reported 100% message delivery through the Gateway.
The 9H1BBS-L Gateway will also transpose between 14.342500 MHz and 18.157500 MHz with full DSP including VHF & UHF backbone support.
Stations connecting via a PC will be redirected to VHF or UHF as CrossBanding from the internet to HF is not enabeled under the
current operational conditions.
The DTMF access code is 145300 & the CTCSS Tone is 77Hz

This system is composed of two Yaesu FTM-350R Radios with full dual VHF & UHF addressable frequency shifting and is operational on a 24/7/365 basis for the time being.
This system is expermintal and users should be aware that unless fully conversent with Frequency Agile Operation via PCAL the system should not be used.
The DTMF access code is 140466 & the CTCSS Tone is 77Hz
